Notting Hill

Spent a day walking alone all over London and taking pictures. One of the places I decided to head over to was Notting Hill (hoping to avoid all the tourists for a while). This was one of the streets I came upon. The perspective was simply incredible.

Port Washington Pier

I attended a photo walk with the Cream City photography group this past Saturday in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Besides being a beautiful sunny afternoon, I met the members of this wonderful group for the first time. We first gathered at the Tello's restaurant (I guess every photo walk they have starts out at a bar :-). We then walked through the town taking pictures, meeting and chatting with some of the town's people, and meandering on the street trying to not get run over by cars. The town has some great buildings and a beautiful pier to Lake Michigan. At the end of the photo walk, we congregated again at a bar for drinks and socialization. I think you get the picture now, right?

Fearless

I attended a photography meetup after school in Chicago. During the event, I saw a bunch of guys jumping and skating on a railing doing tricks. I tried to get a good angle crouching in front of them and took a bunch of shots. Here is one that I took and post-processed.

This picture was taken back in March but I never got around to posting it. I had the kids jumped off a chair (ain't I a great parent?) while I tried to freeze them in midair. I must say a bunch of them turned out pretty cool. Here is one of my favorites and I just can't resist posting it even if it is a little late.

Chicago at Night #2

Last weekend was one of those rare weekends where I actually had some time to take pictures after classes. Since I just got my newly used 14-24mm beauty, I had to test it out on the Chicago skyline. It was a very clear evening and I must say the sharpness of this lens is finally showing through. I did a bunch of post-processing on this picture but I don't know if I am completely satisfied with it.

Saw this beautiful black bird with a stripe of orange and an hint of yellow. Never seen it in my backyard before so I had to try to take a picture of him. Interestingly, it wasn't really that scare of me so I was able to get closer than usual.

My 2nd attempt at taking pictures of the birds in my backyard feeder. I always wanted to get a picture of the cardinals (especially the really bright red one). Well, I got him today. Not a great picture but at least I now have a shot of him.

This is the first attempt of photographing the birds in my backyard bird feeder this year. Not easy, as the birds will immediately fly away if you make any sudden movement (or anywhere even remotely close). Will definitely try again. More to come!

Attended the April Milwaukee Strobist meetup last night. Three models and 40+ some photographers showed up. Lots of cameras going off like a bunch of paparazzi trying to get the shot. Kind of funny and it was a lot of fun. I didn't take too many shots (due to the huge number of photographers there). However, here is one of the classic shots that I took and like.
